I want to send our love and prayers at this time I spoke to Mara today and let her know we love you
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to witness and experience so much love come from our family, and my Aunt Debbye was no exception.
When she moved back to Tennessee I was so excited. I wanted that opportunity to really get to know her. I didn’t have those memorized memories of “One time Debbye did (said) this” growing up.
After Debbye moved here, she and I began forwarding email "funnies” back and forth. From those forwarded emails, we began to communicate quite a bit. Everyone that knows Debbye KNOWS she was not only a wonderful human-being, but also stunningly gorgeous! In almost every email I sent to her I told her that she was and I meant it. She would laugh at me and one-up my compliments all the time. One day she told me I was “kissing the blarney stone!” I laughed at her and told her I do not kiss stones and asked her what she meant by that. She could not believe I had never heard the use of that term. She told me that this was something started by Grandma King. (You can actually look up the blarney stone on wikipedia.)
When I found out that she was going to be a grandmother, I asked her in an email what she was going to be called. These are her quoted words:
"I’m going to be Grand Ma Ma (Like Endora on Bewitched) and Jay is going to be Pops.
Ever since I was a kid I knew I would use the same name as Endora. Endora might have been a real stinker... but she sure loved her daughter..."
I am so thankful for every moment and every conversation she and I shared. I am truly going to miss her and I know I am not alone. ALL OF US LOVE HER VERY MUCH!! She touched our hearts with her words and laughter, her character of courage and strength, her beauty and her love. One could not help but to know they were loved by her. She may not be physically with us, but she will forever be engraved in our hearts.
We love you, Debbye, forever and always.
Deb touched everyone who had the great privilege of knowing her. Our lives are richer because she was in it. She embodied all the best of humanity and gave it back 10 fold every day of her life. She was a true angel on earth and is now flying with them. She was one of a kind and will live in all of our hearts forever. My heart goes out to her husband and family and all of us who will miss her terribly. The void she leaves will be only slightly filled by the memory of her wonderful laugh.
