When we were Officer Candidates at Fort Gordon, Georgia in 1967 we called him Chuck. I remember him as a terrific guy, who almost quit the program but developed into a wonderful Army officer. No one was more proud of those gold bars that were pinned onto our uniforms at graduation. I'm proud to have been his friend.

From OCS Classes and "low-crawling" most of Ft Gordon, GA in 1967; through a car ride across the mountains in VA enroute to Germany; train rides and stops in Gast Haus' in Karlsruhe; phone calls and visits through the years; to a final stop for a meal and a hug between friends in early August this year, the sharing of memories and friendships and the pride he noted in all of his family will never be forgotten.
