I had the honor and pleasure of meeting him at the Nashville Farmers Market! He bought many, many strawberries from us. I asked him once.. what are you doing with all of those berries. He said he made preserves to give out as gifts. He was a remarkable, kind man!! So happy to call him a friend. There is no doubt in my mind that he is rejoycing in Heaven!! He didn't have to tell you that he was a Christian... he lived it!!

Dear Odom Family,
Mr. Doug was always nice to my family and me. Last I spoke with him was at my grandparents’ funerals. Our family thinks a lot of the Odoms, and the world is left brighter because Mr. Doug was here. Our love and prayers to you all.
With deepest sympathy,
Mrs. Elizabeth Peeler Keen
We always enjoyed eating and visiting with Mr. Doug at Old Hickory. Have missed seeing him since the Pandemic.
Sorry to learn of his passing. He was fine man and one whose friendship we cherished.
Prayers,
Joe and Bettye Allen
Debbie, Teresa, & Larry (and spouses and families), we are so sorry and regret we are unable to be there to give hugs and share thoughts directly. He was dear to us and we loved him just like we loved your mom, and you all as well. Bill & Linda
I've never had anything but the highest regards for Mr. Doug. My condolences to Larry, Teresa, Debbie, and the rest of the family.
It is with mixed emotions that I write this. On the one hand, I rejoice that the Lord called him home and out of his suffering. On the other hand, I mourn the hole left in so many hearts, including mine. Mr. Odom has always been a kind and welcoming soul. I dearly remember sitting in his kitchen and sharing a freshly baked coffeecake. He was so excited to share the new recipe. Loved him dearly. I wish I could be there to hug each and every one of the family but I will stay away out of an abundance of caution since my husband is ill. Love to all of you.

We are so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family.
A friend to so many and loved dearly by his family and friends. He loved City Road Chapel and above all he loved his Lord! May he have a joyous reunion with his Robbie and family that have gone before him.
With love and prayers for your loss,
Artha Helms
