Betty K. Brent

Betty K. Brent, 74, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Born April 2, 1947, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Terrell Kimbrough and Ruby Graves Kimbrough. Betty graduated from Isaac Litton High School and was a member of the Marching 100 Plus Band. She then graduated from Middle Tennessee State University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Mathematics. She retired from the Metro Nashville School System where she taught math at Ewing Park Middle School for 32 years. She volunteered her time with Nashville Metro Schools assisting with vision screenings for the students. She loved sewing and crocheting and was a member of the Dalewood Methodist Church sewing club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her grand-dogs Murray, Franklin and Autumn. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Brent Griffin (Scott); son Kendall W. Brent (Stacey); grandchildren Hayden, Maisy, and Presley. Visitation will take place from 4 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 1 PM in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service is asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the Brent family has asked that donations be made in Betty’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
