Fred Joseph Henley
January 20, 1944 - March 10, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Fred Joseph Henley. He was born on January 20th, 1944 in Nashville to the late Dennis Raymond Henley and Carolyn Llewellyn Fowler Henley. Fred was affectionately known as “Basic Fred,” a simple yet loving soul. He was the most kind and considerate man, with the wittiest humor around. Those close to him knew how much he loved to laugh at his own wisecracks. He proudly served his country in the Army, and was even a high-ranking lieutenant. He was a devoted football and baseball fan, having cheered on teams such as the Tennessee Titans, the University of Tennessee Volunteers, Baltimore Orioles, and the Atlanta Braves. His presence was a light to those that knew him, and he will be deeply missed. Fred is preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Llewellyn. He is survived by his sister Llewellyn H. Meister (Frederick), brother Dennis Henley, two nephews, one niece, and good friend Jonelle Mosser. The family will be hosting a celebration of life in the near future. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
