Friends are those people who touch one another’s lives and become part of them. Friends are those who learn to share in one another’s happiness, in their deepest secrets and their fondest dreams.
A really close friendship doesn’t just happen. It takes time to build the kind of trust and respect that makes a friendship a lasting one. Friends are those people who touch one another’s hearts and lives and makes them brighter and happier as time goes by.
Mary was all of the above and much more. We cried together and laughed together.
She shared stories of her childhood. Mary mastered playing marbles and could beat every boy on the block. Later, she traded in her marbles for mini skirts and Gogo boots.
Mary loved her family. Through our many conversations, I grew to know and love her family too. We supported one another through sadness and happiness. We shared many stories about our children and grandchildren. We often talked about our pets; especially if it was storming. Bo nor Precious liked storms.
We always teased Mary at work about her glasses. She was always looking for her glasses and 99 percent of the time they were on top of her head. We took a few paralegal classes for work and it didn’t take either of us long to determine that wasn’t for us. Our job allowed us to travel together and every trip was unique.
Any one that knew Mary loved her. She was the kindest person I know. Although my heart is hurting, I know this is not good bye, it’s just until I see my very sweet friend again.
Love,
Tammy
