I don’t normally post anything online but I met Razzy in the early 90s at the fairgrounds in Monroe, North Carolina and I didn’t have any money on me and he gave me a free tape out of his camper and if he treated everybody like that no doubt he had a lot of fans and his song friends was my favorite and I know that the world has lost another good soul. Lord bless and keep you brother, And thank you. I’ll always listen to you.

So many stories to tell... I was always impressed by how down to earth Razzy Bailey was. We hit it off like old friends the first day I met him and did eventually become great friends. But in many ways Razzy was like a that cool uncle or father figure who always had good advice. It was always a great time writing songs with Razzy. His guitar style was always melodic and tasteful with full mastery of basically all the chords. He was wise enough to surround himself with many great musicians. He was always dedicated and respectful to his wife. We walked the red carpet together at the CMT awards after the Damned Good time album....such a fun night...probably the most fun was the trip we took to NYC at the UNITED NATIONS on Sept 11, 2009 when I got to introduce Razzy to play I hate hate and he won the crowd over rather effortlessly...So many good times I am glad I was blessed to get to know Razzy bc if anyone I have ever known went to heaven it's Razzy Bailey...oddly enough as I drove into Nashville I saw this rainbow...and decided to take a picture...later when I looked at it I realized there was a literal sign from God that Razzy went to heaven so now he's an angel as it should be!

It is heartbreaking that Razzy has passed, though I know he is at rest and in peace. We had a long term friendship and love working together so many years. One of my Best Friends and a brother to me and my wife Donna, I was Razzy's manager for 7 years, and that was a great time and opened the door to a successful and accomplished career. I owe a gracious Heart of Gratitude and a big Thanks to Razzy. We wrote many songs, and had a one paragraph contract that we signed in 1986 or 1987, and after it expired, we have still worked on a lot of projects and written many songs together. Donna and I love Razzy and family,
It is with great sadness and sorrow that I cannot attend the services for my dear friend and the family we love as ours, but it is only because of my own health that Donna and I cannot attend.
Faye, Janita, Jeneve, Tammy, Mike, Paula, Alan, Vande, Levi and Autumn, our hearts and prayers go out to you.
