Mr Steven (Steve) Mitchell Anderson

April 24, 1951 - January 18, 2022

Steven (Steve) Mitchell Anderson, age 70, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2022. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his son, Steven M. Anderson Jr. (Melissa) of Collierville, TN; daughter Rebecca Anderson De Louise (Chris) of Washington, DC; two sisters, Vikki Anderson Bryan (Don) of Atlanta, GA and Teresa Anderson Krellner of West Palm Beach, FL; and one aunt, Claudette Anderson Elliott of Gahanna, OH. Other survivors include his grandson, Zachary Anderson (Shelby) and granddaughter Robyn Anderson, three great-grandsons and five nieces & nephews. Steve was born in Jackson County, Tennessee in 1951 to Walter Owen Anderson and Jimmie Lou Sparkman, both deceased. He lived in Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis before returning to Nashville upon retiring. Steve attended Two Rivers High School and was a natural athlete, excelling in basketball, football, and baseball. He also enjoyed tennis and golf, as well as being an avid hunter. Steve attended MTSU on a basketball scholarship and graduated from David Lipscomb College in 1973. He received a Masters Degree from TSU. Steve taught school for several years before working in sales and management with Bic Pen Corp. and Vlasic Inc. He then started his own company, Pay Phones Plus Inc. After selling Pay Phones Plus, he built and managed the Cordova Athletic Club in Cordova, TN. Steve was a gifted businessman. Giving to others, Steve was instrumental in helping to open an orphanage in Romania and was involved in Teen Challenge and Prison Ministry while in Memphis. He loved and financially supported his Memphis Tigers and Tennessee Vols through their athletic teams. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Spring Hill Cemetery.
