Dr. Simmons office is extremely good at what they do. I had severe TMJ my entire adult life and exhausted multiple options to relieve the pain and their treatment has been most effective. I am 3 years into my treatment and the discomfort is 75% gone. I am saddened to hear that he recently passed but would definitely recommend his team to anyone in need of TMJ relief. The majority of his staff has worked there for 15 years and has been trained by the greatest TMJ specialist I have encountered. He has positively affected the quality of life of many with TMJ pain and his staff will carry that legacy forward.

I wish I could put into words just what Dr. Simmons means to me but the truth is there are no words that would ever measure up. From the moment I met him, though I was in excruciating pain, I knew I had sought the right place for my TMJ treatment. I’ll never forget him telling me, “I’m going to help you.” I wish so bad I could shake his hand one more time and tell him how thankful I am for all he has done for me. He changed my life. He gave me my life back. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Praying for those closest to him, his family and his office staff specifically.

Dr. Simmons was such a kind a compassionate man and I am grateful for his dedication to helping those suffering from TMJ pain. I am a patient of Dr. Simmons and just learned of his passing when I arrived at my annual checkup. Prayers and sympathy for his family, friends and staff. He will be greatly missed!

We are all extremely sad to hear about the loss of Dr. Simmons. He was a remarkable intellect, a well-respected dental editor and he made an extraordinary impact in the field of dental journalism. As a longtime Fellow of the International College of Dentists and having served as the Editor for the USA Section, Dr. Simmons had become a part of our ICD Family. Dr. Simmons was an absolute genius at his work. I have had TMJ since about the late 1970s. He corrected with no surgery and did things that I had no idea could be done. He was the most patient understanding doctor and was always asking about my family, who he had only met. I could not believe when I read obituary in the paper. I know his family is grieving and also his office family. I am grieving. He was truly one of a kind, I hope he knew how much he helped me and other people.

Clifton was a credit to mankind, Dentistry, and particularly to the TMJ community. His leadership was the beginning of advancing our organization, the AACP, to a new level. He was one of the giants along with Brendan and Jack, and others who increased our abilities to treat the TMJ and Facial Pain at a higher level of success.
He had a wonderful kind personality, had a good sense of humor, and was friendly to everyone. His loss will be felt by all who knew and respected him.

So sorry to hear of Clifton's passing. I remember being in the Portland High School band with him and the fun we used to have. I had no idea he had been sick until a friend told me. Prayers and sympathies to Nathan, David and Eva Nell and the rest of the family in his passing.
