Thelma Acuff Gossett's Obituary
Thelma Acuff Gossett age 97 went to heaven November 10,2025. She was the daughter of Rose Lee Cansler and Roy Claxton Acuff. She grew up in Knoxville, TN and toured for several years with her father, dancing and entertaining the troops overseas. She was a popular fixture at Roy Acuff’s Dunbar Cave when she moved to Clarksville with her father.
In 1951 she married Cullom Hosale Gossett and was his loving and loyal wife for 55 years until Cully’s death in 2006.
She leaves behind 3 children she was completely devoted to: Cheryl (Jim) Sanders, Gary Gossett and Paul (Dana) Gossett.
She was loved by 7 grandchildren: Courtney Peterson, Isaac and Nathan Sanders, Andrew Gossett and Leslie Whalen, and Clayton and Jacob Gossett and 10 great-grandchildren: Madeline and Jameson Muse, Lincoln and Patton Sanders, Elizabeth and Clay Sanders, Iris, Elijah and Eleanor Gossett and Ellie Kate Gossett.
Thelma was a faithful Christian, attending her Methodist Church well into her nineties. She was a born caregiver and will be greatly missed but always remembered by her devoted family.
