A furry new staff member has joined the team at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Nashville -- six-month-old Charlie George.

This lovable Golden Doodle is named after George Bradley "Brad" Kraft, a former vice president at Spring Hill who passed away in April 2019. A huge animal lover himself, Brad was personally involved in selecting Charlie George for this inaugural role. Fortunately, the two had a chance to meet each other just days before Brad lost his battle with cancer. According to Tara Bessling, Spring Hill's general manager: "Just like Brad, Charlie George makes people feel loved and comforted during the grieving process.

Losing a loved one can be traumatic, so we're happy to offer families this support when they need it the most." After his induction training, Charlie George will visit other spots in the community, such as schools and nursing homes.
