I will miss her. The neighborhood will miss her! She was a light that guided people. I was so impressed when just a short time after Donnie passed away she threw a “tea” for the ladies of the neighborhood. She recognized that the neighborhood was changing. Many new young people moving in. She created an event that helped us all meet each other, those who had been here quite awhile and those who are new. She gave in this amazing way, when others may have still been wallowing in their grief. Her heart for others was amazing. She once asked me if my church had a good youth group. She then asked me to invite a person she knew who had a teenage son, to my church. She was not interested in which church that family went to as much as if the church would be the right fit for their needs. Not everyone thinks like that. She’s definitely one of those people whose life represented the love of God to others.
