Chris Marlow
Even though I never met Hershel in person, I/We here at Wolf Creek Power Plant spent many hours of conversation with him on the phone through out the years. It is hard to believe that he has been retired from the Nashville District since 2010, since to this very day we still bring his name up in conversations concerning the magnificent job he did within the water management branch of handling the Cumberland River. Never meeting Hershel in person, but having such great respect for the man, speaks volumes to his true character and after reading his obituary seems that was the way he lived his life. Hershel was most definitely the person that when he spoke, we listened. He provided much guidance for us as power plant operators here a Wolf Creek Dam, always a pleasure to speak with and never waivered when we called upon his wisdom. A man like that is hard to find these days and we are so very thankful for having the opportunity to learn from him as we were young operators. Our prayers will be for the family and hopefully knowing what a blessing Hershel was for us as a work family.
