Mrs. Joyce Peery Barnhill

April 9, 1932 - April 13, 2022

Joyce Peery Barnhill, 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Born April 9, 1932, in Hampshire, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Walker Haynes Peery and Margaret Savage Peery. Joyce was a longtime employee with Nashville Electric Service. She loved to cook and entertain and was always ready to go places with her friends. She adored her 2 grandsons and always looked forward to spending time with them. She was a member of a wonderful family at Kemper Heights Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Barnhill, who was a retired Captain with the Metro Nashville Police Department. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Barnhill Faulkner and her husband Tim of Nashville; sister Katherine Harris of Williamsport, TN; grandsons John Faulkner of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Brent Faulkner of Maryville, TN; nephews Will Harris, Bob Ray, Gary Ray, Dave Ray and Steve Ray; niece Sheila Harris; dear friend Billie Hawkins. Visitation will be Monday, April 18, from 12 pm noon until 2 pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm with Michael Perry and Tim Faulkner officiating. Burial will take place in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kemper Heights Church of Christ 1040 Tuckahoe Drive, Madison, TN 37115 or Alive Hospice.
