Mrs. Alene Jeffers McClure's Obituary
Alene Jeffers McClure, age 88 of Madison passed away June 29, 2013. Mrs. McClure was born on October 29, 1924 in Florence, Alabama to the late Fred Jeffers and Ida Jeffers Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lewis McClure, and grandson, Jerry “Boo” Dorris. Alene and Lewis grew up next door to each other in Florence, AL. They were married in Florence and moved to Nashville in 1963. She was a lovely Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her home, her family and her dear friends at Jackson Park Church of Christ. She leaves behind her children, Brenda Dorris, Eddie McClure, and Lisa (Greg) Poteete; granddaughters, Heather and Misti; grandson, Jesse; great-grandsons, Trey and Adrien; brothers, Fred Jeffers, James (Laverne) Wallace and sister-in-law, Jo Banning. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 2nd at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Olive officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, July 1st from 4-8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 12 P.M. until service time at 2.
