Some of my first memories with Lia include going to Universal, going to the beach and flying kites, and going to the Redwoods-I taught Lia the apples and bananas song and we listened to and sang silly songs about the redwoods including one about banana slugs. I remember she and I were in the car once, Mike went into a store, and Lia pinched her finger on the car lighter. She wouldn’t let me help her, she only wanted her daddy to fix it. After a few intense minutes, Mike returned and released her finger. A few years later, Lia came to Florida to be in Mike’s and my wedding. Unexpectedly, she stayed and lived with us for several years. She was such a sweet kid, always willing to help and a great big sister to Julianne while she was with us. I hope I did some good and Lia had a few good memories of me and her time with us. This truly breaks my heart. I wish all the extra love for everyone who loved her, especially her children.
