Alvin Edward Young's Obituary
Young, Alvin Edward March 3, 1926 – June 23, 2011. Born in Dekalb County, TN to Floyd Lester and Lillie Frances Luna Young. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater 1944-1946. Retired machinist from John Bouchard & Sons Company. Preceded in death by parents and siblings Kelly Young, Herman Young, Lester Young, Dallas “Red” Young, Lera Baker, and Elsie Whitworth. He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Connie Friedmann Young; daughters Barbara Y. Spiceland and Cathy Y. (Lee) Luster; grandchildren Jackie Wayne (Kim) Brewer, Jr., Stephanie Erin (Brian) Waye, and Patrick Kyle Raines; step-grandchildren Adam L. Luster and Rebecca A. Luster. Also survived by brother Nelson Young of Smithville and sisters Imanell Vanatta of Dowelltown; Thelma Evans and Mentie Atnip, both of Smithville, and Geraldine Hargrove of New Jersey. Special thanks to caregivers Rose and Samuel Stan. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 26 from 1-5PM and Monday, June 27, from 11-1PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with graveside service immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 2PM.
