Mr. Alvin Edgar Simpkins' Obituary
Mr. Alvin Edgar Simpkins, age 90 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1932 in Ashland City, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Cora Simpkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Cyril Simpkins and sisters Evelyn Bryant and Ruby Pruitt. He is survived by his daughters Judy Harrington (Gary), Loretta Henderson (Patrick), Ella Rhea, Stephanie Hampton (Wendell), Faith Philavarn (Ackhasone), Valentina Simpkins, and Lisa Ladd, son Daniel Simpkins, brothers Jim Simpkins and Ralph Simpkins, 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and a host of loving extended family and friends.
Alvin was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married his wife Cyril in 1953, and together they built a beautiful life and family that they shared for 46 years. In his younger years, he drove and built racecars with his brothers, and he passed down that passion for working on and building cars to his son Daniel. He also enjoyed fishing, as well as chatting on his CB Radio under the handle “East Nashville Goat Man.” He was loved by all who knew him, and will be missed by many.

A Visitation for Alvin will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 2-6pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2pm in the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, with the family receiving visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
