Mrs. Amelia Fisher Bateman's Obituary
We rejoice in the life of Amelia Gibson Fisher Bateman (Mickie), most loved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was born January 28, 1921 and died peacefully on February 2, 2018.
She was predeceased by her parents Callie and Cyrus Fisher, her adored husband, Fritz, and her dear daughter, Betsy (Schutt.) Mommy Mickie or Mrs. B, as she was known to the rest of the family, including the 8th grade class of 1956 at Julia Green Elementary School, is survived by her daughter, April and her husband Bill Mullins, and their children, Bill III (Lydia) of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Gamble (Jim) of Carthage, NY, great-grandchildren, Charlie Gamble (Stephanie) of Nashville and Callie Gamble of Orlando, FL.
Mickie was a long time and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Nashville, Fannie Battle Day Home and King’s Daughters. Always kind, she loved unconditionally, giggled wholeheartedly, and walked humbly with her God. How fortunate we are to have had her in our lives as long as we did.
Visitation with the family at Spring Hill Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Eucharist for those who wish to participate and graveside service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to organizations serving children at risk; East Nashville Hope Exchange, Buena Vista Enhanced Option Elementary School, Fannie Battle Day Home or Kings Daughters Day Home, OUR KIDS, or any charity of your choice.
