The passing of Mrs. Elliott brings a melancholy feeling to me. I am thankful to have been blessed by knowing her and J.D. Along with some other couples, they embraced two single women into their group of traveling friends. Susan Meece and I were included in all the activities, meals, parties, and celebrations, and we were never made to feel like outsiders. We truly enjoyed a family atmosphere- created in large part by Anita and J.D. Although her passing is a natural passage of life, it still leaves an empty spot when your mother is gone. I know that memories of her will sustain her friends and family, and I know that there will be a great celebration when we all get to heaven.

As the mother of my precious, lifelong friend, she accepted me in her home and her heart throughout the years. I so admired her hospitality and service to others. I will miss her and that sweet smile! Praying for all the family that God will provide peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Anita was such a kind and gracious Christian lady, a blessing to so many. I will miss my friend as I know so many will. Her talent of teaching the Bible and her hospitality enriched many lives. My sympathy to the family as they grieve this loss.
