Ann "Annie" Marie Hathaway's Obituary
Our beloved Annie filled every room with the same lively spirit she once shared with her loving mother, Rebecca Williams.
Annie lived each day with gentle compassion, showing resilience, determination, generosity, and kindness in quiet. Those words follow Annie because she lived them every single day. Being a twin was only part of her story; giving back was the heartbeat of her life. Friends and family often spoke of how her warm encouragement made even ordinary moments feel cared for.
Growing up and competing alongside her twin sister, Sonya Belgard, Annie found joy in basketball, softball, cross-country, and soccer. The games were spirited, yet her focus always rested on teamwork and lifting others, proving that winning meant more when everyone felt included.
Annie earned a bachelor’s degree in French from Tennessee State University, carrying that same supportive nature into every setting. Whether working with the Nashville Predators, volunteering in the Boy Scouts of America with her sister Sonya or as a member for three years of the New Orleans-Westbank Elks Lodge #2496, she quietly looked for ways to help and to give back. Annie worked for twenty plus years for the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
Her love for the Nashville Predators ran deep; years of working with the team only made her cheer louder. She rooted for the Titans on Sundays and never turned down a game of pool; proving competition could still feel like family time.
Outside the arena, Annie found calm with a fishing pole in hand, sharing early mornings on the water with anyone who wanted a quiet chat and a fresh catch. Any day outside reminded us why she prized simple moments just as much as big wins.
Annie leaves her brother Kenneth Hathaway and his wife Debbie, her twin sister Sonya and her husband Kelby Belgard, and her niece Jaerica Trout and her husband Brady, and her nephew Robert Belgard. Her faithful dog Oliver “Ollie” will keep watch at home, just like always. She leaves behind many cousins, friends and other family.
We will carry Annie’s steady courage and wide-open heart wherever we go. May every cheer at a Preds game, every cast of a fishing line, and every friendly pool shot echo her joy and remind us that she is still on our team, always.
