Mrs. Ann K. Johnson's Obituary
Johnson, Dorothy Ann Kotheimer ----
Age 89, of Franklin, TN passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 after a short illness.
Born in Boyles, AL on July 23, 1928, she attended Loudon High School in Loudon, TN and Mrs. Howard’s Finishing School in Birmingham, AL. She married the love of her life, James L. (Jimmy) Johnson, Jr., in 1949 and together had two sons. They enjoyed many church related activities, attending football games and travelling.
She called many places “home” in her life, including Birmingham, AL, Loudon and Nashville, TN, Vandalia, OH, Winston-Salem, NC, Lexington and Georgetown, KY, as well as Gulf Shores and Fairhope, AL. After returning to Nashville, in 2005, she attended Woodmont Baptist Church.
Ann loved good food, the beach, and dancing and socializing with her many friends and family. She was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed times in the fall when she could tell those who followed other teams, “Roll Tide!” In later years, additional activities included playing cards and walking.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lafayette Johnson, Jr. and parents, Charles Edward and Florence Franklin Kotheimer.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Steven H. Johnson (Cindy) and Terry A. Johnson (Suzanne); grandchildren, J. Matthew Johnson (Ashley), Josh P. Johnson (Jessica), Megan J. Small (Johnny), Jacob A. Johnson (Ashley), Julie J. Morgan (Tyson), Zachary H. Johnson and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Philip C. Kotheimer (Barbara).
A private, family graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison, TN. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International or the American Cancer Society.
