Mrs. Anna L. Carroll's Obituary
“Mamaw” left us one month short of her 96th birthday. She had been in the care of
Green Hills Health and Rehab for the last three years. We owe our gratitude and thanks for the compassionate love and care she received from them.
Mamaw was loved by everyone she left and those who had gone before her. She was the last surviving child of nine siblings, born to Arthur and Samer Dawes. Her childhood was spent in Giles County.
To say she was a hard worker, is an understatement. After “retiring”, she continued to work at Maybelle Carter Assisted Living Center, for almost ten years. During that time, she still managed to host holiday get-togethers and spend weekends with her grand and great grandchildren. She was a strong DO IT ALL kind of woman. At 84 years old, she finally officially retired.
She is preceded in death by her husband, B.J. “Sonny” Carroll, daughter Sherley Thornton Eubank, and son-in-law Ray H. Eaton Sr.
She is survived by daughter, Gail Thornton Eaton and son-in-law Terry (Donna) Eubank. Her grandchildren, Darryl (Teresa) Eubank, Gina (Alan) Penix, Ray H. Eaton Jr, Sandra (Tim) Stromatt, Dale (Katrina) Eubank, and Dana (Todd) Hartfield. Her great-grandchildren, Clay, Blair, and Camden Eubank, Brandi and Amanda Penix, Same and Lucas Hartfield, Tyler Stromatt, and Al and Sissy Shed. Mamaw also leaves behind one great-great grandchild, Khloe Ford, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 4th, 2019 in Pulaski, TN at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Visitation at 1 PM until time of the service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Stella Community Cemetery Fund, 300 Longmeadow Circle, Pulaski, TN, 38478.
Double Interment of her ashes along with Buford J. (Sonny) Carroll will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 2 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216.
