Mrs. Anna Margaret Smiley's Obituary
Anna Margaret Smiley, age 79 of Hermitage, passed away June 18, 2013. Mrs. Smiley was born July 22, 1933 in Nashville to Robert Wesley and Ruth Robinson Turnage. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying traveling anywhere, watching the Braves or the Titans or watching her favorite show, Wheel of Fortune. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and crypto-quotes.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Nadine Eldred and Gloria Carroll. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Earl T. Smiley; children, Gerri (Leslie) Holt, Leisa (Joe) Geiger and Doug (Diane) Smiley; grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Holt, Haden Geiger, Megan Suttle and Landon Smiley; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Autumn and Jackson Holt; special niece and nephew, Donna Thompson and Steve Pinson; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
A celebration of Mrs. Smiley’s life will be conducted at 10 A.M., Friday, June 21, 2013 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with Adam and Andrew Holt, Haden Geiger, Tim Thompson, Chris Elder and Marty Vanasse serving as pallbearers. Landon Smiley will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday, June 20 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
