Mrs. Annie Mary Shelton's Obituary
Annie Mary Shelton, age 90 of Nashville, passed away April 13, 2013. Mrs. Shelton was born June 15, 1922 in Nashville, TN to Lawrence Benson and Violet Penick Rawls. She was a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Leon Renfro and F.R. Shelton; brothers, Arthur and Melvin Rawls; sisters, Mildred Westbrook and Dorothy Rawls. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her sister, Evelyn Price of Goodlettsville, TN; brother, Kenneth Rawls of Rockvale, TN; daughters, Dixie Whitehead of Smyrna, GA and Linda (Roy) Adcock of Hendersonville, TN; step-son, Donald “Buddy” Shelton of Nashville; grandchildren, Cindy (Tim) Miller of Marietta, GA, Al Whitehead of Smyrna, GA and Roy Leon (Hillary) Adcock of Hendersonville; step-grandchildren, Donnie Shelton of Pleasant View, TN, David Shelton of AZ and Greg Shelton of Orlando, FL; great-grandchildren, Zachery Miller and Michael Adcock; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mrs. Shelton’s life will be conducted at 1 P.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, April 15 and from 11 A.M. until 12:30 P.M., Tuesday, prior to the service at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
