Antha Kay Phillips, 72, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in Dickson, Tennessee. Born February 29, 1948 in Monterey, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Overton Williams and Anna May Hardin.
She was the strong, dependable matriarch of her family. She always made sure her children and grandchildren were taken care of. As a younger woman, Antha was a trailblazer who entered and succeeded in fields that were previously dominated by men. She was loving and tireless. Antha lived her life with grit, determination, and an optimistic spirit. In her spare time, Antha enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, fishing, playing Scrabble and cards, and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marion Jones Phillips.
She is survived by her children Khristie Victoria (Daniel) Perez, Sheena Lynn Harris and Robert Phillips; grandchildren William Alexander Perez, Katherine Yves Perez, Mariah Kaytlyn Phillips, Isaiah Robert Phillips, Isabellia Elenor Phillips, Elija William Monroe Phillips, and Fitz Michael Phillips.
A visitation will take place at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville on Tuesday, May 5, from 4 PM until 8 PM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 6, at 1 PM. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Funeral Home.
