William Stevens
RIP Tony.
We were more like brothers than cousins, we even looked more like brothers. Memories, there are so many, like the time me and you and Mike were at granny and grandaddies when were like 13-14 and decided to ride the one bicycle to the store that seemed like only minutes away when you drove but turned out to be a couple miles there and a couple miles back. (mistake)
Or that time me and you and Mike were helping granny and grandaddy plant beans and I believe you had the idea of throwing like a handful of beans in one hole instead of the couple that we were supposed to throw in and granny watched us and let us plant a whole row like that and then made us go back and dig them up and replant them. (mistake)
Or that time that me and you and Mike and Big Ed took grandaddy fishing and grandaddy sitting behind you on the back and started flicking his lighter to mess with you until the back of your hair caught on fire and he had to start slapping your head to put it out (luckily it just burnt it a little. (that was hilarious)
Or all those times at my apartment when we would go to the pool and stand on each other's shoulders doing backflips into the pool.
Or that time I took off work early and we popped a few and then you had to go to the dentist, and I couldn't drive so you had to drive to your appointment (lucky we lived through that considering your site had already started going)
Or all of those millions of times that we stood in front of the stage and rocked out while Mikey, Darrell and Randy (Daydreamer) were jamming.
Or that time you came out and ran with my company in the Metro Corporate Challange and we conquered the mile and then the 5k almost conquered us, remember that old old man running past us and saying hang in there guys you can do it, he was like 80 and we were in our early 20's.
Or the countless Monday nights we spent watching WCW/WWE in the 90's and the number of Nascar races we used to watch together on Sundays. (the good old days). Every July going to Nashville Speedway for your birthday.
I'm going to miss the calls that usually started with you saying, hey, I need you to google something for me. Hey, what time is the race coming on, hey what channel is the race coming on.
Or hey, have you got the Superbowl card ready (which you always took the first four squares and I will continue putting your name in those same squares as long as I'm making the card up).
Cuz, I usually visited you once a week and talked to you at least 3-4 times a week, usually only for a few minutes, but I cherish those minutes now and glad we made time for each other.
Every time I do a burnou (real burnout) I will think of you and how you always would say as I was about to drive off, "do a burnout" and I usually just scream eeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrkkkk.
Love you cuz, life will definitely be different here without you, I'll probably forget how to use google now that you're gone.
Rock-n-Roll
