A little story about Freddie . In 1963 , 4 of us joined the millittle storyitary ; Freddie Arias , Don and John West and myself . Freddie said , let's join the Airborne , now this is prior to Viet Nam , so we said Ok . Now remember we were 18 and wanted to jump from airplanes .
Anybody that knew Freddie back in the day knew this guy could out physical you in just about everything , he could sure outrun you .
We trained at Ft Benning Georgia in both summer and winter , we ran and trained like there was no tomorrow . I remember one particular long ass run and our training nco said if anybody beat him to the finish , we would get something from it , day off or something .
FREDDIE BEAT HIM LIKE HE WAS STANDING STILL !!
