Audrey Woodard Billingsley, 94, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022. Born October 31, 1928, in Jackson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Napoleon Woodard and Stella Estelle Butler Woodard.
She was a graduate of East High School in Nashville and a member of the East High School Alumni Association. Audrey was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Soroptimist International of Music City Nashville. She was a longtime member of City Road Chapel United Methodist Church in Madison. Audrey was a former employee of the State of Tennessee in the Department of Safety. She also owned and operated Baker and Baker Employment Agency with her husband for 30 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years William E. “Gene” Billingsley; daughter Elaine Billingsley Forrester; siblings Bronice Woodard, Velma Woodard Franklin, and Elvia Woodard Billingsley.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Billingsley, and Brian Billingsley (Bridget); grandchildren, Shelley Howell (Zack), Dane Travelstead (Amanda), Marshall Billingsley, Catherine Billingsley, Patrick Billingsley, Colin Billingsley, Elizabeth Billingsley, Sean Billingsley and Aidan Billingsley; great-grandchildren, Cayden Hoke and Layne Howell; former son-in-law Edison Travelstead.
Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church in Madison on Monday, December 12. A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Reverend Jay Voorhees will take place at 1 pm. Entombment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dane Travelstead, Marshall Billingsley, Patrick Billingsley, Colin Billingsley, Sean Billingsley, Aidan Billingsley, Cayden Hoke, and Layne Howell.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to City Road Chapel United Methodist Church, 701 Gallatin Pike South, Madison TN 37115.
