Mrs. Barbara Ann Shinn's Obituary
Barbara Ann Shinn, age 65, passed away Sunday August 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born October 17, 1953 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Robert Sweeney, Sr. and the late Betty Jean Rollins-Sweeney. Barbara was also preceded in death by her older brother Robert Sweeney, Jr. and her baby brother Jerald Wayne Sweeney. Barbara is survived by her other baby brother, James Sweeney, her husband Christopher J. Shinn, her daughters Pamela Rehman and Cynthia George, her son Christopher C. Shinn, her four granddaughters Anna Watson, Mira Banerji, Abigale Shinn, and Cayleigh Shinn, her great grandson Eliezer Watson, her daughter-in-law Catherine Shinn, and her son-in-law Frank Watson.
Barbara grew up in Donelson, Tennessee and graduated from McGavock High School in 1971. Throughout her life she resided in various parts of Nashville. She moved to Gallatin, Tennessee in 1989 when she started working for Wal-Mart. She and her husband eventually moved to Lewisburg, Tennessee where they have resided for the last decade. Barbara retired from Wal-Mart after 25 years of service. Barbara possessed the strength of the bear and the stubbornness of the donkey. She was funny and brave and will be missed.
Visitation will be on Thursday August 8, 2019, from 4 pm until 8 pm; and on Friday August 9 from 11 am until 1 pm at the Spring Hill Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Ceremony will also be held at the Funeral Home on Friday August 9 at 1 pm, followed by the graveside service at 2:15 pm, when Barbara will be laid to rest in the Veteran’s Garden at Spring Hill Cemetery.
