Mrs. Barbara Terry's Obituary
.Barbara Meade Terry – Hermitage, TN
Passed away peacefully after complications caused by dementia on September 11, 2016. Born August 13, 1939, she is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Lola Meade and brother, Dr. Jim Meade. Barbara is survived by her husband, Mike Terry; sons, Dr. Michael R. Jordan (Katie) and Roy C. Jordan (Marty); sister, Cathy Olds (Don); step-children, Kristen Tucker (Chris) and Blake Terry; grandchildren, Nicholas R. Jordan, Elizabeth A. Jordan, and Zachary M. Jordan, Ethan and Noah Tucker, and several nieces and nephews.
An avid tennis and golf player, she leaves behind faithful and caring friendships. She was retired as a special education assistant with the Metro school system. The lives she touched was with compassion and caring for their future. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved nature and did all she could to preserve it. She was most at home on the beach, where she was involved in the "Save the Turtles" rescue organization. Travel was her passion.
She was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church and Shema Sunday School Class. She leaves behind laughter and pranks with her bridge gals, as well as lifetime friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 4 until 8 P.M. at Spring Hill Funeral Home, as well as one hour prior to the service. Service will be conducted by Pastor Tom Haliburton and held at 2 P.M. Thursday, September 15th. Pallbearers will include Nick and Zack Jordan, Randy Marshall, Blake Terry, Hayden Olds and Jim Miller. Honorary pallbearers are the bridge gals, and Ravenwood Women’s 18 Hole group. Sincere thanks to the faithful staff of Adam’s Place, Murfreesboro for their devotion to Barbara during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pat Summit Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Barbara are greatly appreciated. Internment at Historic Spring Hill immediately following the service.
