Mr. Barney Ray Copeland's Obituary
Mr. Barney Ray Copeland, age 62, of Madison passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015. He was born December 12, 1952 in Nashville to the late Earis and Maxine Copeland. He is also preceded in death by his best friend, David Gibson. Ray was a music aficionado with an immeasurable vinyl record collection that brought him great joy. He had a love of all music, most especially The Beatles. Ray played the trumpet in Nashville’s East High School Marching Band and was a longtime member of the Middle Tennessee Floor Covering Family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Judy Copeland; daughters, Sarah Copeland and Meredith Copeland; mother-in-law, Agnes Freeman; his Freeman family, Jim and Margaret Felts, Allen and Beth Freeman, Patty Freeman, Tracy Freeman, Cathy Gibson, Mike and Debbie Freeman, Chris and Diane Freeman, Eddie and Melissa Vaughn, Tony and Sheila Anderson; 45 nieces and nephews; 23 great-nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Muffin.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 27 from 5 -7 p.m., and Sunday from 1 – 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Habitat for Humanity or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
