Mr. Barry Dwayne Bennett's Obituary
Barry Dwayne Bennett, age 48, of Madison passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. He was born October 26, 1966 in Nashville, TN and is remembered by his family as a man that was passionate about football. Barry refereed youth and high school football games and was pursuing his license to referee junior college football games. He was a huge Tennessee Vols fan and also a fan of Vanderbilt. Barry loved learning about history and religion. He was a singer and saxophone player. For the past ten years, Barry worked at Vanderbilt University as a mail clerk.
Barry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Phyllis L. (Jolley) Bennett; parents, Jimmy and Shirley Bennett; daughters, Tabitha (Cody) McGill and Alyssa Bennett; grandchildren, Amelia Grace and Diana Faith McGill (and one on the way); brother, Keith Bennett; nephews, Jordan and Steven Bennett; and a host of In-laws.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Friday, September 25th and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, September 26th at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
