Mr. Benny "B.J." Johnson's Obituary
Benny Allen “B.J.” Johnson, 56, of Nashville, Tennessee, (formerly of Bridgeport, Texas) passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born November 18, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of the late Harry Johnson and Sue Howell Johnson.
B.J. packed a lot of life into 56 years. He was a bronc rider and a bull rider in the rodeo for 9 years. He was also a licensed auctioneer and airplane pilot. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue his dream of being a country music singer. While there he made many friends in the industry and even got to sing at the Grand Ol Opry with his friend Little Jimmy Dickens. B.J. loved life and never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years Gloria Munn Johnson; his children Kylie Johnson, Cami Kissell, Jacqueline Torbet, Shaley Tate, Carson Johnson, Robert Johnson, Trisha Kral, Bradley Grice, and Justin Grice; sisters Susie Lindsey, Robert Johnson, Linda Terry, Debbie Dorman, and Carol Womack; 17 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville on Tuesday, July 5, from A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at Burial will take place in Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport, Texas.
