Dr. Betsy Ruhl Potts' Obituary
Dr. Betsy Ruhl Potts, age 53 of Hendersonville passed away June 16, 2014 surrounded by her family. Betsy was born on August 30, 1960 in Linden, TN to Dr. and Mrs. William F. Ruhl. Dr. Potts spent more than 30 years in education. Her teaching career included classroom teaching at Goodpasture and Goodlettsville Elementary and administration roles as Assistant Principal at Amqui Elementary and Principal roles at Goodpasture and Old Center Elementary. She loved to go to work every day, watch children learn, and develop relationships with faculty and staff. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to many. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Dr. Barry Potts; her children, Julia Potts and William (Lacy) Potts; parents, Dr. W.F. “Bill” and Annette Ruhl; and sisters, Gayle Pearl and Janet (David) Gragg. A Celebration of Betsy’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 11:00 A.M. from the Dr. W.F. Ruhl Fine Arts Center at Goodpasture Christian School, 619 Due West Avenue, Madison with Bro. Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville. Active Pallbearers will be Michael Gragg, Stephen Gragg, Tyler Potts, Tanner Potts, Mitchell Pearl and Adam Adkins. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, June 18th from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and again on Thursday from 10-11 A.M. all at the Dr. W.F. Ruhl Fine Arts Center at Goodpasture Christian School.
