Mrs. Bettie Watson's Obituary
Bettie June Slate Watson, age 87, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. Bettie was born on June 10, 1929 in Nashville, TN to Mack Henry and Millie Effie Lee (Hudson) Slate.
Bettie June received great enjoyment while she was serving others in whatever capacity that she could. She enjoyed reading literature and used the handy work of her hands by sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed fishing, which was taught to her by her husband, Carlos. Bettie was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Carlos Dean Watson; daughter, Carla Rhnee; and her brother, John Thomas Slate.
Mrs. Watson is survived by daughters, Bernadean York, and husband, Jeffrey; Debra Lee Wilson, and husband, David; sister, Ogelia Neal; grandchildren, Rachel Nelson, and husband, Joshua, and Isaac Wilson. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 11am-1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
