Mrs. Betty Jane Anderson's Obituary
Betty Jane Thompson Anderson age 84, passed away on March 23, 2105 at Madison Manor Nursing Home in Alabama, after long-term debilitating complications of stroke.
She was born April 6, 1930, the fourth of five children of Charlie Bryan and Stella Rice Thompson from Paris Landing, Tennessee. During her youth, Betty attended Buchanan High School (Tennessee) and Holmes Junior College (Mississippi) where she majored in Home Economics and played basketball. She went on to play basketball for Nashville Business College as a guard.
Betty was married to Maynard Frank Anderson Jr. for 40 years and resided in Nashville and Madison, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and mother. She loved gardening and sewing and kept an immaculately clean home. Later in life she was a bookkeeper.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard on January 2,1997, her mother, father, brothers Charlie B Thompson, Jimmy Noah Thompson, and sister Stella Elaine Thompson.
She is survived by daughters Greta Suzanne Anderson (Goodlettsville, Tennessee), Penny Lee Anderson Cecil and husband Mark C. Cecil (Madison, Alabama), grandsons Andrew Jonathan Cecil (Madison, Alabama), Christopher Charles Cecil and wife Nicole (Harvest, Alabama) and Benjamin Michael Cecil and wife Amanda (Montgomery, Alabama). Also sister Greta Thompson Cassmeyer (St. Louis, Missouri), four nieces, two nephews, cousins and friends.
