Ms. Betty Jean Duke-Brawner's Obituary
Betty Jean Duke-Brawner of Nashville, TN. Passed away September 4, 2019 in Austin, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Buford Duke Sr., Sadye Moody Duke; and brothers, Buford Duke Jr., and Gerald Duke.
Betty is survived by her sons, David Eugene Brawner, Harold Richard Brawner and wife, Ann Brawner; sister, Brenda Duke; and grandson, Brandon David Brawner.
Betty was a very caring and loving person and that calling led her to a career in nursing at St. Thomas hospital in Nashville for many years. She was a world traveler and excellent photographer. She loved experiencing the culture of all places she traveled but her favorites were China and Africa. Betty was strong in her faith and loved her Church of Christ community. She was an avid reader and a huge San Antonio Spurs and Cubs fan. She adored her sons and never missed an opportunity to attend one of their sporting events. Betty loved all animals but especially her dogs, Sam, Bandit, Brandywine, and Apache. She touched the lives of so many and will truly be missed.
Visitation with the family will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 10am to 11am at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral will follow at 11am. Flowers can be sent to Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road
