Betty Ann Franklin's Obituary
Betty Ann Franklin, 90, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie and Leonard C. Franklin and two brothers, Dr. Carl Wayne Franklin D.D.S, Dr. Leonard Eugene Franklin M.D. and most recently her loving furry friend, Rambo.
She is survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Julia Franklin, a nephew, Brett Franklin, two great-nephews, Lucas Franklin and Colton Franklin, and two great-nieces, Ava Franklin and Aubree Franklin, and numerous extended family members and friends.
All who encountered Betty were captivated by her genuine fun and loving personality. She was a true treasure who set an example for all of us by living a Christian life dedicated to the happiness of others, including her pets past and present.
Betty graduated from Goodlettsville High School and attended George Peabody College and received her bachelor’s degree from Belmont University graduating Summa Cum Laude. She was employed as a medical technologist in the laboratory at Saint Thomas Hospital for 47 years.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to attend a time of sharing stories about Betty on Sunday, October 15th from two o’clock in the afternoon until the time of the funeral service at three-thirty in the afternoon at Old Hickory United Methodist Church, 1216 Hadley Avenue in Old Hickory. There will be a reception immediately following at Old Hickory Country Club, 1904 Old Hickory Boulevard, Old Hickory, Tennessee, 37138. The committal service will be held on Monday, October 16th at one o’clock in the afternoon at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. Those who wish to attend need to meet at the funeral home at twelve-thirty in the afternoon and everyone will process to the grave together.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests that donations be made in Betty’s name to: Nashville Humane Society (213 Osceola Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee, 37209) or Old Hickory United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
