Mrs. Betty Cooper Girton's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Cooper Girton, 59, a resident of Danville, Illinois and formerly of Nashville, died Saturday, September 6, 2014.
The Knoxville, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Henry and Pansy Harrison Cooper. She was an active member of The Sanctuary church. She enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking and traveling anywhere and everywhere. Her life was all about her family
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Girton; three sons, Teddy Girton, Paul Girton and Harry Girton; two daughters, Ruby Cardona and Annie Chamberlain; four sisters, Wynona Harris, Ruby Worley, Pansy Girton and Becky Phillips; a brother, Manuel Cooper; fifteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Sonny Girton.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 3:30PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with rev. Daniel Sternmann officating. The family will visit with friends Thursday, September 11, 2014 and Friday, September 12, 2014 from 2:00 until 9:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Nashville, 615-865-1101.
