Betty Normetta Mathis' Obituary
Betty Normetta Mathis, 66, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Irene King, and a brother David King and his wife Anna.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Phillip Mathis, a daughter, Maria Harris and her husband Ronnie, three grandchildren, Deonte Harris, Nya Harris, and Nariya Harris, a sister, Vernonica Williamson and her husband Terry, numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
She was known for her unwavering love of her family as well as her voice. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She cherished every moment spent with family, whether it was a simple Sunday dinner or listening to classic rock from the 70’s.
She was a true Wildcat at heart and was an ardent supporter of the University of Kentucky basketball team. She never missed a game, cheering on the Wildcats with enthusiasm and pride all while next to her husband. Her love for the team was infectious and often shared with her family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from twelve o'clock noon until the time of the Celebration of Life service at two o'clock in the afternoon at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. Mark Lohman will officiate the service.
