Mrs. Betty Lou Shoemaker's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Lou Shoemaker, age 76, of Madison passed away on February 4, 2014. Mrs. Shoemaker was born on February 20, 1937, to the late Jacob Matheny and Irene McBroom. Mrs. Shoemaker was a member of City Road Chapel United Methodist Church, in Madison and was retired from Rogers Group. Mrs. Shoemaker was an avid bridge player who enjoyed traveling and the beach. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James R. “Jimmy” Shoemaker; sons, Jay (Laurie) Shoemaker, of Madison and Wade (Jennifer) Shoemaker, of Nashville; grandchildren, Alexandria Shoemaker, Samantha Shoemaker, Misty Sutton, Samantha Cook, and Forrest Cook. Dr. Ron Lowery shall lead a Celebration of Life ceremony to honor Mrs. Shoemaker at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 4:00pm. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 PM until ceremony time at the church. The family will receive visitors from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Mrs. Shoemaker will be entombed at the mausoleum at historic Spring Hill Cemetery on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 10am. with Rev. L.C. Troutt officiating. Memorials may be made to the City Road United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
