Betty Steakley's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Jane Steakley passed away in the late hours of Monday, February 18, 2013 in Nashville. She was a native of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, where she was born July 1, 1937 to Scott and Virginia Boardman – one of 7 children (five are still living). She is survived by her husband of 56 years Albert E. Steakley. She married and raised 3 children - Albert E. Steakley Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, Deborah Steakley Dewey of Ft. Worth, Texas and Charles S. Steakley of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mrs. Steakley was blessed with 3 grandchildren – Morgan Leigh Butler of Gallatin, Tennessee, Brandon Thomas Dewey of Keller, Texas and Charles Scott Steakley II of Scottsboro, Alabama as well as 1 great child - Mack Houston Butler of Gallatin, Tennessee. Additionally, she is survived by her 2 brothers and 3 sisters – Mary Ann Jones of Louisville, Kentucky, John Boardman (Sharon) of Louisville, Kentucky, Mike Boardman (Virgie) of Nashville, Tennessee, Virginia Worthington of Louisville, Kentucky, Bonnie Cartaya of Cincinnati, Ohio. Services for Betty Jane Steakley will be held Thursday February 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with graveside service to follow. Visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday February 20, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. She was blessed with a great sense of humor and joyous love of life. She was a gift from God and will live forever in our hearts.
