Betty Jean Travis' Obituary
Betty Jean Travis (88) passed away on June 7, 2024 at her home in Donelson, TN following an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Travis, parents Albert Mason Land and Edith Enfinger Land, and sister Vondema Land. She is survived by her son Jim Travis (Sharon) of Knoxville, her daughter Pam Travis of Donelson, her "other" daughter Sue King of Donelson, her granddaughter Lauren Mack and grandson Lee Travis (Courtney), both of Knoxville, and five great-grandchildren.
Betty was a long-term member of Perry Heights Church of Christ and was blessed with a loving and supportive church family whom she cherished.
She also leaves behind a large "other" extended family who has been very supportive during her illness, and friends beyond number.
Betty worked for many years at Castner-Knott in Donelson and made many friends of co-workers and customers (even being recognized and approached on family trips). In her younger years, she loved to fish (taking numerous trips with her husband Jim) and garden, but especially to take care of her family. Betty loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many places that brought her great pleasure and lasting memories to treasure.
Betty had a beautiful smile, a warm and loving personality, and gave great hugs. She was a true blessing to all who knew her, and will be missed.
The family invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, from 10:00 in the morning until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 in the afternoon, with burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. Johnny Felker will officiate the service.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
