Mrs. Billie Catherine Montgomery's Obituary
Mrs. Billie Catherine Roop Montgomery, 88, a resident of Nashville, died peacefully July 2, 2014.
The Nashville, TN native was the daughter of the late John and Billie Casada Roop and widow of Robert Cowan Montgomery. She is survived by a son, William (Lisa) Montgomery; three grandchildren, Kristopher (Alysia) Montgomery, Rebecca Montgomery, and Kody Montgomery; two great grandchildren, Ethan and Eli Montgomery; cousins, Lisa Combs and Glenna Lee Mingledorf.
Mom was a giving woman who donated most of her retired life to charity. She helped with Fifty Forward, the Flying Aces, Meals on Wheels, and was a member of Sports For All. She attended Hamilton Methodist Church and was a saved Christian. She worked for Genesco for all of her working life. The family thanks Dr. Richard Meyer and Alive Hospice for all of their sincere care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alive Hospice.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 10:30AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:00AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
