Billy Donald Massey's Obituary
Mr. Billy Donald “Don” Massey, a beloved husband, father, and pillar of faith, passed away on March 9th, 2024. Born on March 22nd, 1932, he touched the lives of many with his unwavering love, kindness, and dedication.
Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mildred Massey, parents James O. Massey and Vivian M. Patterson Massey, and siblings Doris, James, and Florine. He is survived by his son Chris Massey (Tonya), grandchildren Loren Elizabeth Massey and Layne Elise Keef (Collin), grandchild Oakleigh Grey Keef, nephew Justin Jackson, business partner Wayne Jackson, and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Don was more than just a man; he was a beacon of strength and compassion. His devotion to family was unmatched. As a super husband, he stood by his wife’s side through thick and thin, sharing laughter, tears, and countless cherished moments. His love for his children knew no bounds, and he reveled in being a loving father.
Don’s heart truly bloomed when he became a grandfather. His eyes would light up as he held his grandchildren Loren and Layne, imparting wisdom and creating lasting memories. Their laughter echoed through his home, filling it with warmth and joy. He always looked forward to watching his grandchildren play soccer every week, cheering them on from the sideline. For over 50 years, Don poured his heart and soul into his furniture business, Joywood Salvage with his business partner and dear friend Wayne Jackson.
Beyond family, Don had a passion for NASCAR. The roar of engines, the thrill of the track—these were his escapes. Whether cheering from the stands or glued to the TV screen, he lived for those high-speed moments.
Don’s unwavering faith defined him. As the strongest Christian man his family knew, he lived out his beliefs daily. His presence at the Madison Church of Christ was steadfast, where he found solace, community, and purpose.
Billy Donald Massey leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and hard work. His memory will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the heavenly embrace he so faithfully believed in.
