Billy Ray Blackburn's Obituary
Billy Blackburn, 77, Nashville, died Monday, December 21, 2009, at Skyline Medical Center. Billy Blackburn was born March 17, 1932 in Robertson County. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 2, 1988. He served as an elder and the congregation's secretary with the Rosebank Congregation in Nashville, TN. He is survived by three sons: Larry, Steve and David Blackburn; one sister, Marlene Blackburn and one brother, James Blackburn. The grandchildren include: Scott, Danielle, Heather, Josh, Tiffani, Bobby Blackburn and Ariel and Jewelean Spiotta. 1 Great Granddaughter Lexi Stone. Billy assisted the Tennessee Regional Building Committee #2 (RBC) as Project Coordinator for many years. He took the lead in organizing many of the Kingdom Hall Construction projects in Tennessee as well as the major renovation of the Memphis Tennessee Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Memphis, TN. In 2006 he was appointed as one of five assistants to the RBC committee, working with the Project Development Department. For more than 5-years Billy served as a full time pioneer devoting more than 90-hours per month helping ones to learn the Bible. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lawrence Cue officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral today from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow one hour prior to service. Burial will be Spring Hill Cemetery.
