Mrs. Bobbie Jean Thompson's Obituary
Mrs. Bobbie Jean (Goad) Thompson, 84 years old, died peacefully on January 4th, 2023. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she raised her family, then she moved on to Streetsboro, Ohio with her husband. She was married for 41 years to her beloved husband K. Overton Thompson who passed away 27 years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband K. Overton Thompson, son David O. Thompson, half-sister Hazel M. Brown, and her daughter, who was born into the arms of heaven, Katherine Thompson. She is survived by her half-brother Steve W. Brown of Athens, Tennessee, daughter Deborah Kay Thompson, son Douglas M. Thompson, Sr. (Deanna L.) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, grandchildren: N. Paige, Alicia J., Douglas M. Thompson, II (Rachel) of Indianapolis, Indiana. Kyle Kendrick (Sheryl) of Streetsboro, Ohio, Michaela K. Thompson of St. Peters, Missouri, David Cole Rapa-Thompson of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and dear friend Carol McWhorter of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dear Bobbie was a skilled machine operator specialist and a homemaker all her life. Some of her interests included volunteering at a Community Call-In Help Line in Indianapolis, Choco-Mania Charity in Indianapolis, and The Indiana State Democratic Headquarters. Outside of her volunteer work she enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, specialty dolls, and bears.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Spring Hill Funeral Home from 12pm-2pm with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning in the chapel at 2pm. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Douglas M. Thompson, Sr., Douglas M. Thompson, II, and Phillip H. Shubbuck.
