When I meet "Bobby Joe Anders" I was 11 yrs. old and in the 5th. grade at Harvest Jr. High School. We became Best Friends! We played on the football team together and when he wasn't at my house, I was at his house. I remember we were in the school gym one day when no one else was there and saw that the PA system was still set up on stage so we thought we would try it out. I played the piano and since Joes daddy was a preacher it was no trouble for him to preach a little. Well it was all a lot of fun until the principal came in and caught us. We lost contact after he moved from Alabama until we had a 9th grade reunion and it was just like old times. We both said we would never loose contact with each other again long as we lived. We talked on the phone about every week and met once to celebrate our Birthdays together, since February 8th was both his and my birthday. The last time I saw Joe was a year ago when I stopped to visit him on the way to Atlanta. We had been real close for the last several years. "54 years Best Friends". I'll never forget my friend "Bobby Joe" He was the Best of a Friend! He will always be in my heart! ... I pray that our paths cross and we meet again on the other side.
