I was Bob’s administrative assistant for 3 years at Dominion Bankshares in the 80’s. He was such a great boss & we enjoyed working together. He would slip out to play golf occasionally. Sometimes after he would come back after lunch, would go in his office, close the door, & smoke a cigar. I would laugh at the other 2 ladies in our office who would complain about the smell of cigar smoke. It didn’t bother me as my father had smoked cigars as well.
He & Doris came to my son’s wedding & I was so touched that they took the time to attend. My gosh, that was so long ago. I have over the years, run into Bob & Doris out shopping & we would talk & catch up, and the last time, Bob was in the wheelchair. We talked briefly & were very happy to see each other.
I will never forget our working together & told him several times he was one of my very, favorite bosses.
Rest in Peace Bob. I hope we will meet again someday. You will be greatly missed.
